Pregnancy Celebration - Preparing For A Baby Shower

Baby showers have been held since time immemorial to welcome the new arrival into the family. A baby shower is after all a pregnancy celebration. And lots of fun and frolic is to be always had at the baby shower. In today’s day and age, baby showers are hosted for both the pregnant mother-to-be and the father-to-be instead of being an all women’s event like it was in the past. The grandfathers, uncles and cousins of the little unborn one are invited to join in the fun and baby shower games.

A Surprise Baby Shower

Of course there are some traditions and customs followed. That is basic baby shower etiquette. For instance the baby shower could be a surprise for the expectant mom, or she may know about it. If she knows about it then, she will certainly be asked a lot of questions and based on her personality, likes and dislikes, the baby shower will be organized.

The Baby Shower Host

The host will be someone close to the pregnant mother. A close friend or relative or even a small group of friends could well organize the shower. The host will have to prepare the baby shower invitations and ensure that the guests get them well in advance so they have enough travel time. These invitations can be handmade or printed or even emailed.

The Baby Shower Theme

Then there is the theme of the baby shower party. The baby shower theme should be something suited to the pregnant mother’s personality or based on the gender of the infant. You could have a theme color of light pink if its going to be a girl and light blue if it’s a boy. Fairy tale characters and teddy bears are two very popular themes.

The Baby Shower Food And Gifts

The host with the help of the expectant mother also decides the baby shower gifts for the guests, not to mention the food, drinks and the lovely cake. Of course the decorations of the venue are a part of the organizing of the baby shower. So it’s hard work, and a lot of fun to have a baby shower and a pregnancy celebration!
